Santa Rosa, CA -- June 22, 2009 via pr.com -- HREF Tools Corp. (www.href.com) is pleased to announce that the Rubicon Full Text Search Engine is available now for use with Delphi 2009, Delphi 2007 and Delphi 7. The following database bridges are included immediately: ADO, BDE, dbExpress, IBX and Oracle. Rubicon has been tested with Firebird SQL.
In contrast to the Google Search API, Rubicon enables developers to include full-text search features in applications with private data, such as files on corporate networks or in a database containing confidential medical information, without the data needing to be stored on a public computer.
Rubicon supports searching for individual words and phrases. For advanced end-users, Rubicon allows the exclusion of words from a search. Rubicon is used in the application behind www.CodeNewsFast.com (a newsgroup search site). Developers are encouraged to try the search features on that web site.
Rubicon includes eight utilities to help developers become productive quickly, all with full source. It also includes nine example projects which demonstrate use with various database bridges.
Rubicon was developed from 1996 to 2008 by Tamarack Associates. Rubicon version 3 is the first release by HREF Tools and is essentially a port to Delphi 2009. Customers of Tamarack Associates who licensed Rubicon version 2 are eligible for upgrade pricing.
Support for Interbase Objects (www.ibobjects.com) and UNIDAC (www.devart.com/unidac) is expected in July 2009. To use Rubicon v3 with additional compilers or database bridges, potential customers are requested to contact Customer Service.
Rubicon sells for $299.00 (USD), for a developer license including full source. There are no royalty or runtime license fees. Rubicon licenses may be purchased online in HREFShop by starting at www.href.com/rubicon.
