Rubicon 2 Drivers

Rubicon 2 currently supports the following database engines:

Support for other engines depends on customer demand and the quality of the vendor's virtual TDataSet implementation.  Please contact us if the engine you are using is not listed here or if you are a database vendor seeking Rubicon support.
Please note that nearly all the vendors are in the process of updating their products.  Tamarack Associates will make every effort to keep up-to-date.   If you experience any problems, particularly if something doesn't compile, please check the version of the database engine to the version listed below and contact Tamarack Associates.

Comment Tested with MS Access and MS SQL Server 7.0 5.02 and 6.02 are available from codecentral.borland .com Beta. Only tested with IB 6. Will not work with MySQL due to dbExpress blob bug.

 

Utilities Use TTable based utilities
TTable Works best with local tables.  Does not support dBase Words tables.   When using MS Access tables, the Words table should not be displayed in any active controls otherwise a Record/Key Deleted error may be raised.
BDE Works best with Paradox and dBase tables. Uses dbi calls.  Does not support dBase Words tables.
Advantage All tables created by Rubicon are ttAdsADT.
If Text table is not ttAdsADT *and* has deleted records, ShowDeleted must be False.
Does not support descending IndexFieldName.
Apollo Words table cannot be Clipper (ttSXNTX).  If the Text table contains deleted records, then
the index used by Rubicon should include the .NOT.DELETED() condition or SetDeleted(True) should be called.
ODBC Express Requires MS SQL Server 6.5 SP5, ODBC driver 3.70.06.23.  
Topaz Only one Words table may be stored per directory when using NDX (default is MDX).  For Topaz versions prior to 8.0, the Rubicon packages assume that the Topaz packages will be named or located in TzDesign (D3),  DclUsr40 (D4), and DclUsr50 (D5).  Topaz 8.0 packages require some minor changes to be compatible with Rubicon.  Contact us for more information.
Version It is best to use the current version whenever possible.  These versions have been supported in the past and should continue to work with Rubicon.  Precompiled packages included in the setup programs are based on the latest versions, so these package files will have to be recompiled to support older versions.  Support of older versions is at the discretion of Tamarack Associates.
