Allows you to build your own shopping cart application faster and easier than with other products. Saves you at least a week of development time.

The Shopping Cart application provides the following:

  • "Mall" design whereby a generic store can be run multiple times on the server to support unlimited stores.
  • Dynamic database-driven store supporting unlimited classes of products, and unlimited items within classes.
  • Immediate support for dBase, Paradox and Access tables. Full source so you can hook up the database of your choice.
  • Display of a linked graphic file (.png or .jpg) for each product.
  • Credit card number validation (on the server, no dependence on Java Script)
  • Store administration:
  • Remote add/edit/delete of classes and items, for remote data entry.
  • Ability to zip up all tables for subsequent FTP download.
  • Ability to unzip newer tables after an FTP upload.
  • No dependence on cookies.
  • Sales tax calculation. The vendor enters a tax table (name specified in the store.db database). The code determines the tax jurisdiction as country code (if present and not USA) or the state code (if country blank or USA). Taxability is determined by the store-wide value of the Boolean UseTax and on a unit-basis by the Boolean fTaxable field in the items.db file.

The Shopping Cart Jump Start Project does not include shipping calculations, and customers must enter their information each time they come to place an order. While these are important features, their implementation requires decisions that depend on how each company does business. We have left these areas to your discretion.
