Overview and Benefits

The Shopping Cart Jump Start Project gives you the source code to an application server for online, database-driven stores. The store works "out of the box" (after you compile the EXE). You can then modify the database contents, the graphics, the page layout, and so on. If you intend to build a shopping site with WebHub, this product will save you days, if not weeks, of development time.

"I have used (and endorsed!) the product WebHub (by HREF Tools Corp) for years now.... and I have been using Website since the 1.0 days. While the learning curve for WebHub is a little steeper than other products (requires some Delphi skills), in terms of power, features and flexibility, WebHub blows the competition away! As far as support goes, HREF provides tons of it and has a similar Listserv that provides a wealth of information and support. Everything with WebHub is session-based, and a full blown shopping cart demo (which can be edited and full configured for your own tastes/requirements) and other's demos are included."

Requirements and/or Compatible Software

During development:

[x] Delphi 6.0+
[x] Borland Database Engine
[x] WebHub VCL Components, v2.099+
[x] WebHub System, v2.099+ , 1-exe capacity

For deployment:

[x] WebHub System, at your desired hub capacity. Choose the hub capacity based on two factors: the number of different stores you want to support on that machine and the amount of dynamic page requests you expect per second. See this page to estimate capacity requirements.
[x] Your database engine, e.g. Borland Database Engine (free, included with Delphi)
[x] Microsoft Windows NT workstation or server
[x] Any web server that supports cgi-win, cgi-bin, or ISAPI

Documentation

Includes a 30-page user manual which describes: how to install the system for use with one or more stores and customize the store for your own use, the database design, the web action components (application organization), and the page flow.

"The store project is the best-documented piece of software I've ever purchased. The perfect balance between high-level descriptions and low-level detail. Possibly the first product ever (to me, anyway) where the docs surpass the product itself! Kudos to all involved. "
-- David Fobare, August 9, 1998

The manual is included as an RTF file in the download-only version.
