WebHub Version .9 Release Notes

These are the release notes since EEP 8.95... Note that we are changing the number system, dropping the EEP notation. This release represents version .9, as in 90% of version 1.0.

You should have runners dated Jan. 28, 1997. If not, please take new copies from http://www.href.com/pub/runners.
If your hub.exe does not start, or if it gives error messages about TWebInfo component, open windows\href.ini and look for the [webhub] section. Add these two entries, and MAKE SURE THAT THE FILENAMES exist on your machine. i.e. adjust drive letter as needed.

The upgrade path for existing projects, going from 8.95, should be extremely smooth. The demos required only 2 [ignore] button clicks to make them recompile under the new build.
Hub user interface is dramatically different and enhanced. The webhub.hlp file covers all new features and is available context-sensitive to each panel. Highlights:
- Sessions panel lets you delete any highlighted .var files
- Also lets you examine Literals and Checked data for selected surfer#. WOW!!
- Runner timeout lengths and messages can be configured.
- Every Button Works.
TWebApp.PagesPreCreate lets you determine how you want the Pages menu built.

FrontPage Compatibility

'PreParseChunks=No' may be specified in WebApp.Defaults (ini file) to suppress changes in the chunk files on read.

'PreParseChunks=Yes' is the default which establishes compatibility of chunkfiles with frontpage97 in part by stripping out linebreaks.

Demos

HTSAMP demo is gone. HTFORM demo replaces it, using the borland customer table instead of the built-with-webhub sites database.

Known Bugs

Authentication against IIS does not return username and password; fixed in 901
PAGE macro does not work IF (a) you are preinstantiating all pages and (b) the target page is not defined in a chunk file (it comes from .ini or .db). Fixed in 901.
