Browsing >>EMail to List: Sending email to a list of customers or contacts

Requirements

  1. Hosting account with HREF Tools
  2. A email account which corresponds to a LIST. Usually this account would have a name such as customer-list. If you do not already have this type of account, request it from Customer Service. The cost is US $10.00 per year plus configuration. Advanced customers may be able to do the configuration themselves.
  3. The list of recipients, as a simple list of email addresses, one per line, in a text file. This list must be stored on our server according to instructions that you will receive privately from Customer Service.

Displaying graphics in email

Most email software will let you include graphic images (photos, advertisements, etc.) as part of your message. This includes Outlook, Eudora and the Ice Warp web-mail interface.

Linking a graphic image to a Flash Animation

Providing a link from a graphic to a web page that shows a flash animation is a matter of entering the correct HTML syntax. Details vary depending on which email package you are using.

If you are using Firefox and Ice Warp web-mail, first make sure that you have enabled copy and paste. This is an extra step if you are using Firefox. Instructions are here and you must do those steps while Firefox is CLOSED. Replace http://www.mozilla.org with https://mail.href.com to enable copy and paste within our web-mail interface.

Make sure that you are sure of the URL of the graphic you want to display, and of the page you want to link to. Test your http links in advance in a separate browser window to make sure that you do not have any typos. Here is an example:

  • destination: http://www.url2image.com/tutorial1
  • visible graphic: http://www.href.com/img256/HREFShop.gif

Now the HTML syntax. In web-mail, you can toggle into a mode when you can enter HTML syntax directly. That is the mode to use for making a link from a graphic image to a web page, for example, from a shopping cart icon to the web page for the online store. You will need to replace the http addresses in this example with your own destination url and visible graphic.

The A tag makes an Anchor, also known as a hyperlink, from your email to the destination web page. The IMG tag displays the graphic.

Test your advertisement by sending it to yourself and a few friends, before sending it to your LIST!

Strictly No Spam

We only make the above service available to customers that we believe will use it responsibly.

We will close your email account, your list account and your hosting account if you send illegal spam. Make sure that all your recipients want to hear from you and have a successful year.
